A Proposal She Never Saw Coming: Jes’s Creative Plan to Surprise Nay
I regularly have the pleasure of photographing Nay and Jes, a couple whose bond is as unique as it is beautiful. They have this incredible way of understanding each other's needs and making each moment full of love and laughter. Nay and Jes's story is filled with sweet traditions, funny moments, and the kind of connection that makes you believe in forever.
One of the funniest memories they’ve shared with me is when Nay put an XL shirt on their dog, Leo. Jes couldn’t stop laughing as Leo strutted around, absolutely loving his new look! It's these adorable moments that make their relationship so special.
Every time Nay and Jes go to a festival or concert, they have a tradition of buying a t-shirt or jumper and sharing it. It's a simple yet meaningful way for them to capture the memories together. Whether they’re building Lego kits or traveling to new places, every adventure adds a new chapter to their story.
If Nay and Jes could freeze a moment in time, they’d choose any of their camping trips. Their weekends are full of adventures, often exploring new places or enjoying quiet moments at home. Whether it's renovating their home or watching their favourite TV show, their weekends are one big blend of fun and relaxation.
What makes Nay and Jes truly special is their dynamic. Jes loves how driven Nay is in everything from work to personal care. Nay admires Jes's spontaneous spirit, which balances her organised nature perfectly.
Their proposal story is straight out of a movie! Jes wanted the proposal to be a complete surprise for Nay, who is incredibly smart and hard to catch off guard. We created along game plan to desensitise Nay to couple photo sessions under the guise of a “Blinde Pick Photo Challenge” series. Every time Jes and Nay would visit me on the Sunny Coast or I them in Warwick we would document a blind pick, share the results on the instagram for everyone to follow along, and start the clock with 24hrs to pull of the session. On the day Jes proposed, Nay thought it was just another part of the photo challenge—and the plan was a huge success! It was an unforgettable moment that captured the essence of their playful and loving relationship.
Nay and Jes are also planning to expand their family with another fur baby soon, making their dream home even more joyful. Their relationship can be summed up in three words: compassion, strength, and glee—three qualities shining brightly throughout their lives together.
